Week 2 — The Candle of Faith

“Blessed is she who believed that the Lord would fulfill His promises.” — Luke 1:45
Light a Candle for Faith

In Week 2 we light the Candle of Faith. This week invites us to trust God’s promises as Mary and Joseph trusted—walking toward Bethlehem with hearts open to God’s plan. Each day includes Scripture, a short reflection, and a prayer to strengthen your trust.

Tip: Consider using this reflection time to pray the Rosary, read Luke’s Gospel, or light a candle through our Light a Candle service to unite your intention with prayer at the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima.

Day 8 — Trust in the Promise

Scripture: “Blessed is she who believed that the Lord would fulfill His promises.” — Luke 1:45

Reflection: Mary’s “yes” was a bold act of faith. Faith whispers trust even when the path is uncertain. This week, let us practice saying “yes” to God in small ways, believing He will fulfill His word.

Prayer: Lord, increase my faith. Help me to say “yes” to Your will and trust Your promises even when I do not see the full way. Amen.

Day 9 — Journey to Bethlehem

Scripture: “And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths.” — Luke 2:7

Reflection: The Holy Family’s journey models faith in action—leaving home, moving toward God’s plan. Faith often requires movement: steps of sacrifice, trust, and obedience. Let us walk with them in spirit.

Prayer: Holy Family, teach me to walk with trust, accepting the journey You place before me with courage and love. Amen.

Day 10 — Faith’s Quiet Strength

Scripture: “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” — Hebrews 11:1

Reflection: True faith is quiet and steady — not loud, but sure. It carries us through nights of doubt into mornings of grace. Nurture this quiet conviction by small, faithful acts each day.

Prayer: Father, grant me a faith that endures through doubts and grows in small, faithful acts of love. Amen.

Day 11 — Mary’s Yes

Scripture: “And Mary said, ‘May it be done to me according to your word.’” — Luke 1:38

Reflection: Mary’s humble acceptance models faith rooted in openness to God. Her yes changed the course of history. We too are called to receive God’s will with humble trust.

Prayer: Blessed Mother, intercede for me that I might say yes to God with a heart like yours. Amen.

Day 12 — Trust in Providence

Scripture: “And the angel said to her, ‘Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.’” — Luke 1:30

Reflection: God’s providence reaches into our daily lives, offering care and guidance. When fear arises, remember the angel’s words: God’s favor is with you. Trust the care that sustains you.

Prayer: Lord, help me to rest in Your providence and reject fear, confident that You walk with me each day. Amen.

Day 13 — Faith that Acts

Scripture: “Faith without works is dead.” — James 2:26

Reflection: Faith should move us to acts of charity and mercy. Let this week’s trust overflow into service — small deeds that reflect the love we’ve received.

Prayer: Lord, give me opportunities to show my faith through love and service to others. Amen.

Day 14 — The Faithful Heart

Scripture: “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” — John 20:29

Reflection: The faithful heart believes beyond sight. As Week 2 closes, ask God to deepen this faith — a quiet, resilient trust that carries you into the light of Christmas.

Prayer: Lord, deepen my faith so that I may trust You more and follow You more closely. Amen.

Light a Candle for a Deeper Faith

As Week 2 ends, may your trust in God grow steady and sure. Carry this faith into acts of love and prepare your heart for the joy ahead.
